Here's my first rendering attempt of the Walter White WIP. Don't really understand yet the interaction of the various rendered layers, but suppose will be figuring that out soon. Heavily tweaked in PS.

F'Ecorche Digital Version

Here's a first WIP pic of a F'Ecorche (Fake Ecorche - get it? get it?) that I'll be attempting in ZBrush. This shiznit is like some crazy candy. More to come!

Turning Heads

Excited to have learned today how to turn heads! Below are a few tests on the WIP Mr. White / Bryan Cranston bust. I like how the top left head seems to be saying, "Bullet in my forehead? Oh realllllly darling?" :P

Going to be working on a new character WIP. 

A bit of an update on the Walter White WIP...a couple of disclaimers (assuming he's reasonably recognizable at this point) - the bullet is totally metaphorical and in no way denotes spoilers to BB, as I've only seen to the end of Season 4. He's about as close to a "Dead Man Walking" as I've ever seen...

Also I've never seen a real head bullet wound and don't care to Google one, so again, this is metaphorical...

New Celebrity Bust...TBA

Starting a new celebrity bust...TBA. Going to pick up on the previous Native American bust a bit later, since I only have a front view reference for that one.

Want eventually to make a piece on Mickey Rooney with the theme of young / old...need more learning though to make this happen.

ZBrush is such a great concepting tool! Above is a quick little mashup of some of the previous renders. ZBrush has been an entryway into concepting (not my forte) for me.

Last week, I started taking a fantastic Intro to ZBrush class with Young Choi, taught at my school Korpus School of Art + Gallery in Downtown LA. So far it's been a blast!
